Let’s Read - Asia’s Free Digital Library for Children
Let’s Read is an initiative of The Asia Foundation’s Books for Asia program that puts an entire library of free, open-source children’s books into the hands of kids, parents, teachers, and communities throughout Asia. Let’s Read! works with schools and communities in Nepal to provide access to these high-quality, engaging storybooks, which help children develop a lifelong love of reading.
The Let’s Read library features a mix of openly licensed local and international storybooks, available in Nepali, Nepal Bhasa, Tharu and many other languages. Books can be read on Let’s Read mobile app and online library, or printed for non-digital environments. Offline functionality allows books to be stored on devices, without the need for a constant internet connection.
Let’s Read also features an innovative, crowd-sourcing translation platform that utilizes a crowd-sourcing approach to empower individuals and communities to make high-quality children’s books available to their kids in their mother tongue.
